Tiered Dot Mesh Skirt: Everyday Flamenco Vibes

Winters in Hong Kong are interesting. A while ago it was so cold I had to hug a hot water bottle through work; a week later it’s warm enough to break out the spring pieces already. With Chinese New Year around the corner, I wanted to play with red looks that are subdued enough for everyday wear.

Pairing solids with black used to be a no-no for me. Somehow I always perceived black to be either formal or edgy, and pairing anything outside of a leather jacket and jeans with colours just seemed… wrong. I’m slowly warming to the idea though.

I’m a pleats-over-tiers girl because they are so much more forgiving but even I couldn’t resist twirling a little in this dolby polka dot mesh. There was a brief phase when I was all over sleeveless shirts. Unfortunately I haven’t looked back ever since it passed, and this chiffon shirt has been sitting around for maybe 10 years — I can’t believe it has held up so well! This pairing gives me office-flamenco vibes, if that’s a thing.
