Valentine’s Day Nails: Pinking of You
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and whether you’re spending it with someone special or your galentine, there’s no better excuse to give yourself some TLC and pampering!
I was really bummed about missing out on my Chinese New Year nails for the second year in a row (blame Miss Rona again) so I asked if my manicurist could do home service for me and my mom. I knew I wanted something playful and dynamic, so I sketched out what I wanted and even ordered holographic hearts ahead of time. I really ought to give myself a pat on the back for that.
It’s a simple palette – just a classic red, pink and nude. One thing I’ve learnt through trial and error is that warm pinks go so much better with my yellow skin undertones. I opted for salmon pink (as opposed to carnation pink) and a peachy nude for contrast and balance.
My nails are not huge, so feature nails always go on my thumbs and middle fingers. Just how gorgeous are those pulsing concentric hearts? Also big love for checkered and patterned nails, they’re the perfect amount of colour with a subtle glint in the sun.

So… What Do You Think?
Did you like the holographic or hand-drawn hearts more? Or maybe you’ve already got other ideas for Valentine’s Day.
Either way, let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear what you have in mind!
If you’re located in Hong Kong and are looking for someone who can draw fairly quickly or offer home service, I can also share my manicurist’s details upon request.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
