Checkered Frock Coat: My Love for Camel and Black

I love blazers but let’s face it, Hong Kong has a very limited window where blazers are practical to wear (not that it has curbed my desire to buy them).

This frock coat has been sitting in my wardrobe for a year until I finally took it out for a spin. It can be worn two ways: buttoned up as a dress itself or open as a blazer on top. I love the detailing with a slight puff in the shoulders, contrast lining, gold-trimmed buttons, and a warm glen check perfect for fall. But the length and sleeves were running short on me and I didn’t like it flaring out over jeans.

This season, I paired it with chunky boots and a boxy bag before throwing it over a top with shoulder pads and a-line skirt (both not pictured here). The bold silhouettes tone down the girly factor, giving it a more edgy equestrian feel. Camel and black is definitely becoming one of my favourite colourways!
