Faux Leather Pinafore Dress

When picking faux leather items, I prefer black pieces that make a statement on their own yet still allow for layering so it doesn’t appear too full-on. This was one of the pieces I had gotten right when Covid hit and haven’t had the occasion to wear it at all… until recently. The dip in both the front and back of the dress creates visual interest, though if I had to be honest, I think the straps were threatening to slip off.

Is it just me, or do pinafore dresses remind everyone of school days? Here I layered a collared shirt underneath and topped off with a black leather bag and loafers, complete with gold hardware to match the dress buttons. Kind of like a uniform look for adults (yes, I always cuffed my shirts even in school).

On a separate note, I really need to recolour my hair. Usually I do it every 3 months / before vacations but it’s been kind of pointless since 2020. So Chinese New Year is an apt excuse; if you ever wonder where I am, I will be appreciating my own hair colour in private.
