Porcelain Nails: The Only Colours I Wear With Silver
Most summers, I opt for a blue nail set to coincide with choir schedules (you never know where cameras pan). And not just any blue—always a striking, royal blue, reminiscent of dark lapis lazuli.
We went for a twist on the porcelain style by mixing in 3-dimensional elements on the other fingers. It’s my first time trying the crushed velvet nails with magnetic nail polish and I’m stoked. Whilst applicable on top of any polish, I’ve found that it gives the most dimension when used tone-on-tone to match the encased powder. I wanted an accent nail in a lighter complimentary colour, and the grey turned out as a beautiful shimmery velvet!
We also picked silver flecks for the faceted nails and tiny silvery accents on the porcelain, finished off with a sapphire ring to tie in the colours. I generally prefer gold pairings, but silver feels like a better match for deep blues because it’s a little more quiet and subtle.
I know I’ve said it multiple times this year but this is yet another of my favourite indie sets!
So… What Do You Think?
Did you like the cat-eye or hand-drawn porcelain pattern more? Or maybe you’re not the biggest fan of the colour palette.
Let me know in the comments below; I’d love to hear your thoughts!
If you’re located in Hong Kong and are looking for someone who can draw quickly or offer home service, I can also share my manicurist’s details upon request.
