Staying Breezy This Summer with a Paperbag Floral Dress

I confess, my latest vice has been breezy midi dresses that combat the summer heat. Between Hong Kong’s sub-tropical climate plus the humidity brought on by recent typhoons, the sweltering heat has made it impossible to stay outdoors without sweating.

This means that many trending items are not practicable for the weather – smocked waists and corset boning, with too much fabric and structure, are literally recipes for disaster.

Enter paperbag waists: a cinched area with fabric bunching on top of the gather.

What’s better yet? paperbag dresses that have an elasticated neckline!

The dress in this particular floral pattern is sold out, but H&M still has them in several spring colours.

I love that the crêpe weave of the dress fabric keeps it floaty and breathable despite its calf-length hem. Its adjustable shoulder straps are also handy if you want to layer it over a white tee for a more Y2K look.

I also went with some fun summer shades to add a pop of unexpected colour. Cute accessories are what make getting ready a breeze!
