Year of the Snake: Scaling New Heights with Red Nails

In Chinese culture, red is the most auspicious colour, while gold symbolises wealth and success. There are many shades of red, but the Chinese’s favourite shade almost leans towards vermillion, which I opted for in a gradient that runs from bright to deep red, complemented by the negative space and a transition into a soft, shimmering gold. To mirror the elegance of the snake, I added subtle metallic patterns on the accent nails–think delicate swirls or a serpent-like design that captures the creature’s essence while remaining chic and sophisticated. It’s louder than I’m used to, but a little sparkle never hurts, especially during the festivities.

These nails are perfect for any New Year visit, and a bespoke manicure can only help to turn heads and reel in more red packets. Pairing it with something equally vibrant, like a traditional Chinese outfit, would easily elevate your look.

Wishing you all a prosperous and joyful Year of the Snake! May you and your loved ones be blessed with good fortune and health as you welcome the new year with open arms.
