WISKII Elegant Scallop: Athleisure with a Hint of Glam
WISKII has been on my Instagram radar for years, so it was the perfect timing for them to send me any outfit of my choice. And my, it was such a difficult choice, because they have so many gorgeous styles to pick from. If the brand rings a bell, you’ve likely seen it go viral after Taylor Swift sported their Beyond Denim Dress, which has since sold out.
I opted for something entirely different, as I was drawn to the Elegant Scallop collection, WISKII’s signature, which is instantly recognisable with its lovely detailing. The full lineup has 11 styles for sports bras alone, including racerback, mock neck, one-shoulder silhouettes, and even more if you count the cropped tops. There are also bike shorts, swimwear, and mini shorts you can pair under their tennis dresses.
I’m wearing the Chic Bra Top and High-Waist Flare Legging in Forest, an earthy green that complements warm Asian skin tones nicely (though not to be confused with their Olive Green that leans more towards brown). I love that WISKII lets you filter pieces by colour (not unlike Alo Yoga), which helps unleash the styling potential for co-ords that can be worn both together or mixed and matched separately.
With the pretty scallop hem, I wanted a top that offered enough coverage to be worn independently and settled on the bra top with cap sleeves. It features a scoop neckline down the front and back, balancing the silhouette nicely without being too revealing or risking a wardrobe faux pas. I have a small chest size, and I was anxious about the sleeves falling (as with many scoop neck tops), but they held up pretty well throughout the entire day and never bothered me. The subtle push-up padding offers light to medium support and is also removable.
The flare leggings were a no-brainer: these are still so on trend this season (WISKII also has variations like a split-leg or v-waist). I love that the scallop hemming is only done on the waistline, so as long as you go for a more neutral shade, you could pair this with any cropped top in your wardrobe for even going-out outfits. That said, it’s not impossible to tuck t-shirts into the scallop hem, but it does require some finessing to get it right.
Having gone through so many pairs of leggings, I know the fabric sets good ones apart from others. I prefer mine with a tad more compression, but not so much that the seams start digging in (or worse, give you a camel toe). WISKII leggings feel buttery soft while still cinching in the right places, thanks to their four-way super stretch that ensures a fit like a glove. The added flat-locked seams below the waist and above the butt offer extra sculpting and lifting without the dreaded chafing. If you’re a fan of Lululemon’s Groove Nulu flared leggings, you’ll love WISKII, too (plus they’re more reasonably priced).
For reference, I’m 5’6” with a 25” waist. Sizing was on point, with the small fitting me perfectly for both top and bottom. That said, the Elegant Scallop line is crafted with seamless adhesive that can be stretched firmly to release some elasticity if it ever feels tight. I could have gone with the regular leggings length, but I opted for the Asia fit with a shorter inseam so that they graze the top of my sneakers and can be worn with sandals.
The big question: does WISKII live up to its hype? Yes, given I’ve been wearing it for entire days while exploring northern Thailand, and its breathable, moisture-wicking properties helped me keep cool in the warm, sticky weather. I’m a sucker for small details, and I love the glint of gold on the back of all WISKII pieces that brings about sports glam to comfy day clothes—a solid 10/10.
The good news is that from 9-15 October 2024, WISKII is hosting a Club Week to celebrate their birthday:
WISKII20 for 20% off sitewide
65% off for selected styles in flash sale
Sale season is the perfect time to treat yourself to something you’ve been eyeing, and you bet I’ve already added the off-shoulder long-sleeved crop top and bike shorts to my cart.
