Winter Wonderland Nails: Let it Snow

2021 is one of the rare years where I managed to secure a manicure booking close to Christmas. I tend to go for green or psychedelic nails during the holiday season, as I reserve my favourite reds for Chinese New Year. But this time I opted for a silvery blue palette and it turned out surprisingly refreshing (yes, I know I’ve had multiple blue sets this year already)!

I had rough ideas in mind for a smudged base in cerulean with light dabs of pearlescent blue and silvery cat-eye polish. In true holiday fashion, we added more hand-drawn snowflakes and silver foil on top. The real showstopper was the accent nail – a multi-dimensional glitter base studded with colourful rhinestones. We did attempt to balance it out by adding a nude nail with holographic stars and white dots for snowfall... But trust me, it still looks more than OTT IRL.

It is the merriest time of the year though and I’m away on a 3-week long break, so who cares?

So… What Do You Think?

Did you like the snowflakes or holographic hearts more? Or maybe you’ve already got other ideas for the holiday season.

Either way, let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear what you have in mind!

If you’re located in Hong Kong and are looking for someone who can draw fairly quickly or offer home service, I can also share my manicurist’s details upon request.
