Watercolour Floral Swimsuit: The Tropical Getaway We’re All Dreaming Of

Before the temperatures suddenly plummeted, we were visiting the Arca and their lovely rooftop pool, so I dug out a tropical swimsuit that would match the coral mural and lush fern wall.

If you’re not familiar with Oysho, it’s a sister brand of Zara under fast fashion giant Inditex, focusing on underwear, loungewear, swimwear and activewear (basically everything Zara is not known for). And I absolutely adore their soft-to-touch fabrics with the most gorgeous summer prints.

What I did realise with a bit of trial and error was that their one-pieces fit me so much better than their bikinis do – the latter’s sizing is always a bit off and the wiring sits uncomfortable. This swimsuit features a watercolour floral print by artist Dora Szentmihalyi, complete with tie straps and a deep scoop back. Perfect for the remnants of a warm summer!

Now that I think of it, I’m definitely gravitating towards swimsuits more the older I get. I think most girls go through a similar cycle: your teens are stuck in unflattering Speedos or Arenas for swimming lessons, hence once you’re out of school, you race towards bikinis to flaunt a bit more of skin. Eventually when your metabolism slows down, or when you’re just sick of pretending to be young, you slowly inch back towards the coverage. I might be late to the party but I totally get it now.
