White Swimsuit: The Classic Piece for Years to Come

This was my introductory piece to H&M swimwear several years ago; wow, they blew my mind. Every season, they offer a range of staples plus on-trend pieces – from solid colours to textures and patterns – they cover everything at a very affordable price (give or take HKD300)! The only downside is that their sizes sell out quickly and are often limited in stock online, so go check out your local store while you can!

This swimsuit was my first shot at one-pieces again, and it really rekindled my love. There’s a reason why every brand is releasing its own take on the timeless classic – if you only own one swimsuit, it should be a white one-piece. I love how white makes an Asian tan pop, and this piece’s ribbed texture gives it a twist without being overly basic.

Needless to say, it goes beautifully with the dreamy pool architecture and concrete slabs of Alila Bangsar. Does it not feel like a hidden oasis in the middle of the sky?

If you’re headed for the beach, one-piece suits can double as a bodysuit for daytime wear. Especially knowing that white would look great paired with crochet shorts or denim cutoffs – perfect for capsule wardrobes and minimal packing!

I always opt for swimwear with slight padding as it provides more comfort, and I don’t have to add pasties underneath. The great thing about H&M’s incredibly affordable range means you only pay a fraction of the price for additional security without sacrificing fun and style.

The modest coverage means that the swimsuit is not as ideal for tanning, but it’s perfect for pool days where you do plan on getting wet. The cross straps also mean I can dive head-first into a pool without worrying about straps slipping off or a wardrobe malfunction. If anything, the coverage makes the piece more timeless for years to come.

I’ve linked some of my favourite sites for browsing swimwear below. Of course, I rarely hit the beach or pool nowadays, so I can’t really justify purchasing designer swimwear. Still, I can’t deny that some brands rock beautiful designs and have been on my radar for so long.

But you know what? The one thing to remember is that your confidence from being in your own skin won’t ever be defined by a hefty price tag.

So, What Do You Think?

Will you be trying white swimsuits this spring? Or maybe you prefer bikinis for less coverage and a better tan.

Either way, let me know by leaving a comment below. I’d love to hear what you have in mind!
