Amethyst: The February Birthstone

Images courtesy of H&M

Hello, fellow amethyst girls.

February is almost over, and with it comes the stunning amethyst, the birthstone for this month known for its deep purple hues and captivating sparkle. Historically, purple is associated with royalty, and I love the contrast of amethyst set against gold, which gives off a rich, luxurious feel.

Sharing my favourite finds of the gemstone for this current month.

Amethyst, a variety of quartz, is celebrated for its striking violet colour, which ranges from light lavender to deep plum. Its name originates in the Greek word “amethystos”, meaning “not intoxicated”, with perceived protective qualities against drunkenness and overindulgence. This gemstone has been cherished since ancient times and is believed to embody calmness, clarity, and spiritual growth for its wearer.

From left to right, top to bottom:

1 | Puffy Ring: Starting with my favourite piece on the list, a bold chunky ring inspired by the iconic Charlotte cake. Set in 14k solid gold, it’s bound to make a sweet statement.

2 | Dove Talisman Necklace: The necklace pendant features an intricately carved dove that glimmers translucently. The bird is said to bring a sense of calm, which makes for an extra meaningful piece that can be layered with other necklaces.

3 | Beaded Bracelet: Beaded bracelets are a fun way to build up your personal stack and add a pop of colour. This one is set on elastic with a solo diamond and enamel charm.

4 | Textured Pendant: The ridged texture gives the pendant a vintage look that looks classic enough to be passed down as an heirloom. Its unusual tag shape stacks well with other pendants on a chain necklace or bracelet.

5 | Necklace and Bracelet Set: The ultimate minimal set in 18k gold vermeil you can wear daily for an effortlessly coordinated look. Both pieces come in adjustable lengths, and complimentary engraving for the back is included.

6 | Leather Jewellery Case: Not a gemstone piece, but who doesn’t need a matching padded box to store keepsakes in? It’s the perfect size for the vanity, and you can add a bespoke touch with an embossed monogram. Also available in a smaller size.

7 | Stud Earrings: Dainty ear stacks are still a thing, and these stackable studs pack punchy tones without overpowering your outfit. These 3mm stones set in 14k solid gold look fantastic as a second piercing or on the helix.
