Live concerts are back!

I admit it does feel strange to be near other people again, especially now that we’re mask-free. Not complaining, though; I’m excited about the events we have lined up for the rest of the year.

I thought I’d share my choice of concert attire for last year. We weren’t wearing a choral uniform, so it was just a generic dress code of navy blue and black. I’ve been veering towards dressing conservatively for these occasions as I grew up. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received for dressing is when in doubt, always dress up, not down. It’s so much easier to err on the side of caution; plus, it makes you look more put together. My childhood years of performance also meant I prefer wearing pants to dresses/skirts – try moving instruments around in skirts that could get dangerously snagged; it’s not fun. 

I have a soft spot for short-sleeved knitwear, and this piece gets extra love because it has a mock neck and is reversible. I usually wear the keyhole detailing at the back to add a subtle touch and glimmer without fighting the diamond jewellery.

Because of the tapered pants, I love opting for heels for that extra boost of girl power. I used to have a go-to pair of beautiful d’Orsay heels from Cole Haan, but the lack of support on the arch also meant it was horrific to stand in for hours. So this time, I was hunting for a specific silhouette with a pointed toe and mid-height block heel. These Repetto block heels come in a sumptuous lambskin and feel like you’re standing on a cloud – worth every bit of my penny.
